Brook Dougherty and Debbie Koerner formed Handmade Marketing in 1996. The Los Angeles-based company delivers low-cost, high-concept marketing and development services to the small business and non-profit communities.
Handmade Marketing's major areas of attention are education, performing arts programs for youth, community service programs, healthcare, domestic violence, pediatric cancer research and the philanthropic activities of the entertainment community.

Brook Dougherty began her career in New York with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film business and spent many years working as Director of Creative Affairs for United American and Australasian Film Productions, Pty, Ltd. then Vice President of Creative Affairs for Pierre Cossette Productions. She also did a two-year stint teaching standup comedy to incarcerated gang members before starting Handmade Marketing. She lives in Pacific Palisades with her husband, Professor F. Jay Dougherty.

Deborah Koerner created some of Los Angeles' most extraordinary events during her 14 years as Senior Event Coordinator for southern California's most prestigious catering company, Rococo. Clients included the Annual Emmy Awards, American Music Awards, LACMA, MOCA, Phantom of the Opera Premiere, the LA Marathon and many more. She took the Director of Purchasing position at Phenomenex, Inc., before moving on to join Handmade Marketing as a partner. She lives in Redondo Beach with her husband, Philip Koerner, Ph.D.
